There is no specific facility provided from both of the ends to use iTunes on Linux. But it doesn’t mean that iTunes doesn’t run on Linux.
The thing I am mentioning here is that all the things are possible but you get the result much harder.
iTunes on Linux Option 1: WINE
It’s a third party facility which provides you the ability to run iTunes on your Linux or windows programs. All you need to know about it is mentioned below.
Step 1: First of all install WINE, it’s totally free.
Step 2: After completing the first step, all you need to do now is to check whether it’s asking for another thing to install for running iTunes or its files.
The handiest tool for doing that is PlayOnLinux.
Step 3: When you realize that the environment is all set now for you.
The next thing for you is to download a 32-bit windows version of iTunes from Apple and install it.
You don’t have to worry about the installation process as it follows the same process just like the windows.
Step 4: If you are facing any troubles in the installation then install the older versions. But the main thing you have to keep in your mind is that an older version doesn’t support the latest features and services.
iTunes on Linux Option 2: VirtualBox
Ethically it’s not the right process, but it will surely work for you. Following are the steps I am mentioning below.
Step 1: You have to download the correct version of Virtual box for your Linux platform.
Step 2: Install the version.
Step 3: Click on the launch option and follow all the instructions they are providing for the creation of a virtual windows computer. This is some cases requires windows install disc.
Step 4: After completion of the previous process, launch the most preferable windows web browser and download iTunes from Apple.
Step 5: Install iTunes in Windows and you should be good to go.
Will Apple Release iTunes for Linux?
Well, we cannot say without having any prior knowledge but as the time is very fast there are requirements which every company has to complete in order to be in the position in the market.
From this perspective, I think that the change will come one day.
